Week #9
Whitney Point Walks Around the World
Week 9 Report
Last Stop on Whitney Point's World Tour
During Week 9, Whitney Point walkers were still unable to reach Jerusalem, Israel, the seventh stop on their journey. In summary, Whitney Point must walk:
Madrid is the last international stop on Whitney Point's world trek before heading back to New York. There are 1230 miles between Rome, Italy and Madrid, Spain, which means that, in total, participants in "Whitney Point Walks Around the World" would have to walk 3,889.56 miles to stay on schedule and make it around the world in 80 days. But don't be discouraged, on average, participants have logged an average of almost 1,400 miles each week! That's awesome! Keep on walking, Whitney Point! Let's see how far we can go!
Don't forget, during the last week of walking (Monday, June 28 - Wednesday, July 7), turn in your miles by the end of the day on THURSDAY, JULY 8, 2010 (instead of Monday) and include any miles logged from June 28 – July 7. Whitney Point's final miles tally will be announced during the week of July 12 - 16 on the map in the Rural Health Network window (2663 Min Street, Whitney Point) as well as on the Rural Health Network website and Facebook page and in the Whitney Point Reporter [if you would be so kind! J Thanks! ].
Congratulations to Pam Powell, who was the Week 9 winner!! She has won a lunch box. There are still 2 more chances to win!
