  • Informs and empowers rural residents, enabling them to be active participants in health systems planning and service delivery.
  • Responds to the health needs of rural communities and promotes the best strategies for meeting these needs.
  • Fosters sustainable model programs and needed services through advocacy for adequate reimbursement, demonstration of cost effectiveness and positive, measurable health outcomes.
  • Pursues collaboration to achieve service integration, best practices dissemination, improvements in the availability of necessary resources and avoidance of duplication where appropriate.
