Please join us at one of two regional locations for a second Empowering Communities for Successful Aging Conference. Each conference location will have the same format, including topics for panels and workshops. In some cases, the regional conferences will have different speakers who may emphasize different models or practices when discussing the topics.

THE CONFERENCES WILL PROVIDE . . .

• the opportunity to learn more about effective practices to organize, plan and implement locally based initiatives to help communities become more livable for persons of all ages.
• expert advice on an array of topics, and many speakers will be available to provide individualized consultation.
• ample networking opportunities so that attendees will have the chance to share experiences and learn from one another how to address challenges that prevent older New Yorkers from living independently and with dignity in their communities of choice.

Community Building and Advocacy—will share the methods to reach and influence local decision-makers
Arts and Learning in Your Livable Community—will highlight planning components that add an extra attraction in your community
Building Your Senior-Led Organization—will provide specific information to get started
Including Diverse Populations—will identify ways to make your community inclusive of all residents

Fair on the Square Feeds the Hungry

This year, both the Delhi Rotary Club and the Knights of Columbus will hold food drives at the Broome County Fair to help those in need. A child can bring a non-perishable food item to the drive and receive a token in exchange, good for a free game. There is no limit to the amount of tokens a child can earn. In addition to tokens, coupons for ice cream at MY Hero are also given out to children who donate a large quantity of food to the drive.
