Trails for Active Living: A Conference on How to Create and Sustain Trails for Healthy Communities

The Tioga County Active Living Partnership will be conducting a conference for anyone interesting in learning more about creating and sustaining community trails. The event will be held at the Susquehanna River Archaeological Center, 345 Broad Street, Waverly, on Wednesday, May 27th from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The cost is $15.00 per person and includes a continental breakfast, lunch and a free tour.
Keynote speakers Scott Reigle and Mark Bowers will talk about the Greater Binghamton Greenway, including a history of where and how the original study was done, background on how greenways are funded, the current strategy for implementing the study's recommendation, and finally, a status of all the proposed trails.
Breakout sessions include "Getting Your Proposal Funded and Then What?"; "Working with the DEC: Adopt a Natural Resource Program"; and a professional panel consisting of a physical therapist, registered dietitian, and clinical exercise specialist.
